Incident # 25-08096 - A small sedan received heavy damage when it was struck in the rear by a semi-truck on I-95 near the 57 exit Tuesday morning 14-October at 00:28. A witness advised the car was traveling a low speed with no tail lights on the dark section of interstate when it was hit by the truck who was traveling highway speed. The car was pushed into the guardrail and spun around blocking one lane of travel. Firefighter-Paramedics found the driver unconscious in the car. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. The man was treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The truck driver was not injured. SC Hwy. Patrol is investigating the collision.
