01/December/2025 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift Incident # 25-025-09543 - A residential dwelling was heavily damaged in a morning fire in the 200 block of Charlie Smith Lane, Monday morning 01-December at 08:28. Callers to 9-1-1 reported smoke coming from the roof of the home. Engine 13 arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from all sides of the building and flames coming from the roof at the rear of the building. Firefighter-Paramedics made entry through the front door and stopped the spread of the fire, containing the blaze to the north end of the home. Crews had the fire under control in approx. 20 minutes, but were on the scene for three hours performing overhaul. The occupant and a 1 year old child were next door at a neighbor's residence when the fire occurred. They were not injured. The fire appears to have been electrical in nature. It destroyed a bedroom and spread into the attic. Many personal items were saved, but they received smoke damage. Engine 13, Engine 18, Tender 1, Tender 8, Tender 13, Tender 15, Tender 18, Medic 13, Medic 18, Brush 8, Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 111, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander. |
