Incident # 25-10124 - Two people were injured in a two car collision at the intersection of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) and Charleston Hwy. (SC Hwy 64) Monday 22-Dec at 15:01. A Honda Fit received heavy damage and the adult female driver was trapped in her vehicle. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the woman while other crew members used Holmatro Rescue Tools to extricate her. She was transported to the Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 6. A second Fire-Rescue ambulance was requested to treat the adult female driver of the Mazda CX-5. She received minor injuries and denied transportation to a hospital. Traffic at the busy intersection was down to two lanes for over an hour. The accident is being investigated by the SC Hwy Patrol.
Engine 6, Medic 6, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
