Incident # 25-010293 - Three people were transported to a Trauma Center following a head-on collision on Green Pond Hwy (SC Hwy 303) at Rivers Street Thursday evening 27-Dec at 18:35. Firefighter-Paramedics found the roadway partially blocked. They treated all of the patients at the scene and requested two additional Fire-Rescue ambulances and two medical helicopters. The most serious patient was transported emergent to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter at their base in Walterboro. The second helicopter had an extended arrival time, so the remaining two patients were transported emergent to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC.
Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 19, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 116 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
