07/February/2026 - Structure-Woods Fire - "C" Shift Incident # 26-01051 - A single wide mobile, a vehicle and approx. 1-1/2 of woods was destroyed in an afternoon fire in the 200 block of Dicks Hill Road Saturday 07-Feruary at 17:12. Engine 1 arrived to find the mobile home approximately 75% involved and half of the structure had already collapsed. The surrounding woods and a Jeep were also on fire. Two other vehicles were also damaged from heat. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed three handlines to extinguish the fires. Tenders supplied water for the firefighting effort. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes, but were on the scene for two hours performing overhaul. No one was at home when the fire occurred. The fire is believed to have started from an unattended burn barrel next to the mobile home. Dry conditions and light winds spread the fire. Engine 1, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 8, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain Matt Smart served as incident Commander. Photos by Harold Buzzell |
