Fire-Rescue was honored to assist members of Charleston Fire Department, Charleston Motor Squad, Charleston International Airport Police, Colleton County Sheriff's Office, and Walterboro Police Department with the escort of retired Charleston Fire Battalion Chief John T. "JC" Cole. Chief Cole unexpected passed away on February 2nd. Fire-Rescue intercepted the procession in Jacksonboro and escorted Chief Cole to the Brice Herndon Funeral Home. Chief Cole was lifelong Colletonian who faithfully served the residents of Charleston for 23 years before recently retiring. Chief Cole was a local realtor who together, with his wife, owned Oswald Cole Reality. We are terribly saddened by the loss of Chief Cole and we know his presence will be missed both locally and in Charleston.
