25/February/2026 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift Incident # 26-01578 - A northbound dump truck lost control and overturned at the intersection of Mount Carmel Road and Wolf Creek Road Wednesday morning 25-Feb at 11:27. The truck received heavy damage in the accident. The adult driver was able to crawl out of the wreckage. The patient suffered multiple traumatic injuries, and was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics who requested a medical helicopter. CARE Flight responded and landed in the front yard of a residence near the accident site. The patient was transported the short distance to the helicopter, then transferred to the Flight crew. The patient was flown to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. Mount Carmel Road was closed in the area of the accident for about 45 minutes, so recovery crews could clear the damaged truck from the scene. The accident is being investigated by the SC Hwy Patrol and State Transport Police. The Sheriff's Office assist with the traffic detour. Engine 26, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 115 and CARE Flight responded. Captain Roger Johnston served as Incident Commander. |
