Incident # 26-01596 - A 16 year old suffered traumatic injuries in an ATV accident Wednesday afternoon 25-Feb at 16:27. The accident occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Haymakers Lane off of Jones Swamp Road. The caller to 9-1-1 reported the large ATV rolled over onto the juvenile. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the teenager at the scene and requested a medical helicopter to respond. Meducare flew to the location and landed in a field at accident site. The patient was transferred to the Flight crew, then flown to the Shaun Jenkins Children's Hospital at MUSC in Charleston.
Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
