Incident # 26-07578 - An adult was shot at a residence in the 400 block of Rhode Drive north of Cottageville, Sunday evening 06-Sept. At 21:21, 9-1-1 was notified a person had been shot at the location. Colleton County Sheriff's Deputies secured the scene, while Firefighter-Paramedics treated the victim, who received multiple gunshot wounds. Medical helicopters could not fly due to thunderstorms in the area. Fire-Rescue Medic 9 transported the patient emergent to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital. The CARE Flight crew met the ambulance to assist with care. Medic 9 administered IV fluids and life saving whole blood during the transport. The patient went to surgery after arriving at the Trauma Center. The incident is being investigated by the Colleton County Sheriff's Office.
