30/June/2025 - Shooting Incident - "C" Shift

Two teenagers received injuries during a suspected drive-by shooting incident in the 100 block of Deloach Ave Monday afternoon 30-June at 17:08. Sheriff's Deputies located a 15 year old male with injuries to his leg and abdomen. Deputies assisted the young man until Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. He was treated at the scene, then transported to the Pediatric Trauma Center at Shawn Jenkins Hospital at MUSC in Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 1. The second juvenile, a 17 yr. old male, fled the scene. Click here for additional information.
29/June/2025 - Shooting Incident - "A" Shift

An adult male was injured in a shooting incident in the 300 block of Fletcher Lane in the Oakman Branch Community Sunday morning 29-June at 02:11. The man received two wounds and was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics. No medical helicopters were immediately available. He was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 26. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics were on board assisting with his care during the transport. The shooting incident is being investigated by the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. 24/June/2025 - MVC with Entrapment and Air Evac - "B" Shift

At 05:12, Tuesday 24-June a northbound semi-truck left the roadway on Interstate 95 near the 60 mile marker and struck several trees in the median. The cab received heavy damage from the impact, but the front of the trailer failed and the load of 50 lb. bags of sugar were propelled forward crushing the cab from the rear. The unrestrained driver was partially ejected through the windshield, but was trapped in the wreckage as the cab was crushed. An off-duty Fire-Rescue Lieutenant arrived minutes later and began treating the unconscious driver who was hanging out of the windshield. Click here for additional information.
8/June/2025 - Patient Visit with MUSC

Bralyn Padgett visited with the responders who rescued her following a horrific automobile crash on Dorsey Street on 27-April. MUSC arranged the meeting at Fire-Rescue Headquarters, bringing Bralyn, her Trauma Surgeon Dr. Mallah and many of the responders who all worked to save her life, together to meet and discuss the accident. Bralyn was upbeat and smiling as she greeted everyone. Representatives from Live 5 and the Post and Courier were on site as Bralyn, responders and finally Dr. Mallah recapped the events of the day and how the team effort played out, ultimately saving Bralyn. Click here for more information.
15/June/2025 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift

Two people were seriously injured in a single vehicle MVC on Wellston Circle off of Thunderbolt Drive Sunday night 15-June. 9-1-1 was notified at 22:43 when a passing motorist discovered the Toyota Sequoia SUV in the woods. The accident possibly occurred around 21:00. The vehicle drove off of Industrial Road at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate the turn and entered the wooded area, striking a tree head-on. 13/June/2025 - Paramedic Announcement

The Fire-Rescue Department congratulates Firefighter-EMT Marshall Morehead on successfully obtaining his National Registry Paramedic Certification. Firefighter-Paramedic Morehead worked tirelessly to obtain his certification and we are proud of his accomplishments. Firefighter-Paramedic Morehead is also celebrating his two year anniversary with the Department this month.  Please click here for more information.
07/June/2025 - Car vs Moped MVC w/Air Evac - "A" Shift

A child was severely injured when the Moped he was driving was struck in the side at the intersection of Foxfield Road and Fourth Street Saturday afternoon 07-June at 15:58. The small child, approx. 11 years old, was thrown approx. 30 feet into the ditch. He suffered multiple traumatic injuries and witnesses advised he was unconscious following the collision. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the child at the scene and requested a medical helicopter. Click here for additional information.
05/June/2025 - High Speed MVC w/entrapment - "B" Shift

Three people were injured, one seriously in a single vehicle MVC on Interstate 95 near the 61 mile marker northbound, Thursday evening 05-June at 17:39. The northbound sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, struck a concrete culvert and overturned. The car received heavy damage and landed on its roof in a water filled ditch, trapping the driver. Sheriff's Deputies arrived first and entered the car. The Deputies held the man's head out of the water until he could be extricated. Click here for additional information.
03/June/2025 - NWS-Charleston Letter of Appreciation
