12/22/2011 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Fire-Rescue responded to a well involved dwelling fire Thursday morning 22-December at 03:11. 9-1-1 Operators were notified of the fire at 203 Seigler Drive by a neighbor. Engine 19 arrived four minutes later to find the 2500 square foot single story home fully involved. The roof had already burned off of the building and the entire interior was ablaze. 12-21-2011 – MVC with ejection & Air Evacuation

A single car MVC left one man with multiple injuries Wednesday afternoon 21-December. The car, that was traveling on Lodge Highway (SC Hwy. 217), left the roadway, over-turning several times before coming to rest upright deep in the woods. The driver was found semi-conscious near the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries. Click here for additional information.

 

12/19/2011 – 40 year awards / Station 3 & 23 Christmas Dinner    

Stations 3 and 23 jointly held a Christmas Dinner at Rizer’s Bar-B-Que on Confederate Highway Monday evening 19-December. The Dinner was attended by all personnel at the stations and their families. Two Station 3 members received recognition for serving 40 years on the Fire Department. Click here for additional information.

 

12/14/2011-
Congratulations to Battalion Chief Ben Heape and his wife Jenny on the birth of their daughter.  Lillian Grace Heape was born at 11:45 this morning weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz. and 19 inches long.

12-09-2011 – Children’s Christmas

On Friday, December 9, a Children’s Christmas Party was held at Station 19 for all department members (career and volunteer), the ED and LifeNet staffs.  The event was coordinated by Robin Sheffield (wife of Fire Marshal Richard Sheffield) with assistance from Meagan O’Quinn (wife of Engineer Andy O’Quinn) and Kelly Banks (wife of Fire Marshal Mikey Banks). 12/09/2011 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift 

A mattress fire cause damage to a home at 113 Grayson Street, Friday morning 9-December at 02:12. Engine 1 arrived to find light smoke coming from the single story dwelling. All occupants had safely evacuated the building. The occupants used a garden hose through the window to keep the fire in the room. Firefighters advanced one 1-3/4 handline to the rear bedroom and extinguished the bed. Click here for more information.

 

12-06-2011 / MVC with Entrapment / “A” Shift

A single vehicle MVC at the SB 43 mile marker on I-95, left a mother and child trapped in their Mercury Mountaineer Tuesday afternoon 6-Decmber at 13:36. Car 110 arrived to find the heavily damaged SUV in the woods with the roof crushed into the passenger compartment. The driver advised she was southbound when a rear tire blew out causing her to lose control. Click here for additional information.

 

12/04/2011 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

An eighty year old  barn was destroyed and 90 baby turkeys lost their lives in a mid morning fire at a farm on Keegan Drive. Fire-Rescue was alerted for the fire at 08:07 Sunday morning 4-Decmeber. Engine 19 arrived at 1475 Keegan Drive to find the barn approximately 70% involved. Light winds pushed flames 30 feet from the building, igniting several hay bales, a small storage building...click here for more information.
