27/February/2024 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift

An adult male was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident in the 14900 block of Round O Road at Fleming Road, Tuesday afternoon 27-February at 16:02. The southbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The car overcorrected and struck the ditch embankment, then overturned. The driver was unconscious. Bystanders immediately provided aid and pulled the man from the car. Medic 19 arrived and began providing treatment for his injuries. Click here for additional information.
26/February/2024 - Fatal MVC - "B" Shift

A 24 year old Beaufort County man died in a single vehicle MVC on ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) at Green Pond Hwy (SC Hwy 303). At 23:02, 9-1-1 was notified of an overturned pickup truck at the location. Engine 6 and Medic 6 arrived to find the Ford Pick Up truck overturned in the ditch at the tree line. The truck suffered heavy damage and appeared to have been at the location for some time. Upon searching the vehicle, Firefighter-Paramedics found one unrestrained occupant who was deceased. 20/February/2024 - SCDOT Announces Detour Notice

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will detour traffic on Sniders Highway (SC63), starting Monday, February 26 through Friday, March 1, 2024. Click here for the detour map.
20/February/2024 - Condolences

Fire-Rescue offers condolences to Courtney Snelgrove, and her family on the passing of her father, Robert S. Walters, Jr. Mr. Walters entered into rest on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the age of 77. The family will receive visitors Thursday, February 22, 2024 starting at 11 am followed by the funeral service at 12. The services will be held at Sandy Valley Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA. Please keep the Walters, and Snelgrove family in your prayers.

16/February/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Firefighters saved a Red Comet Rd home following a fire that caused heavy damage to the kitchen. At 16:05 Friday afternoon 16-Feb, 9-1-1 received a report that the home was on fire. Engine 1 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions from the eaves on all sides of the single story residential dwelling. Firefighter-Paramedics made entry through the front door and quickly had the fire under control. The fire originated on the stove and burned into the cabinets and had breached the ceiling entering the attic space. Click here for additional information.
13/February/2024 - Semi Truck MVC with Fire - "C" Shift

North and Southbound Interstate 95 between Exit 53 and Exit 57 was closed for ten hours Tuesday morning 13-February. 9-1-1 was notified at 01:03 of a tractor trailer truck striking the southbound bridge near mile marker 55. The callers advised the truck was on fire and the cattle trailer went off into the river. Engine 26 and Medic 26 arrived to find the cab and chassis of the truck fully involved. The rear of the truck was hanging over the side of the bridge. Crews could see a portion of the cattle trailer submerged in the river. Click here for additional information.
11/February/2024 - Fall with Air Evac - "B" Shift

An adult male was flown to a Trauma Center after he fell and became unconscious Sunday afternoon 11-February at 16:47. The man was staying at a motel in the 1100 block of Sniders Hwy (SC Hwy 63). Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man at the scene and requested a medical helicopter. He was transported in Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center, then transferred to the flight crew of CARE Flight.

06/February/2024 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment

A Summerville woman perished and two other people were injured, in a two vehicle head-on collision in the 14300 block of Cottageville Hwy. (US Hwy 17-A) east of the Town of Cottageville Tuesday evening 06-February. At 21:11, 9-1-1 received several reports of the accident. Fire-Rescue Units arrived to find the highway blocked. A Lincoln with heavy damage was blocking the southbound lane. A Safelite delivery cargo van was overturned on the northbound shoulder. Debris littered the highway. The adult female driver of Lincoln was deceased and trapped in the wreckage. Click here for additional information.
01/February/2024 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

A family of seven was displaced following an early morning fire in a mobile home in the 800 block of Norris Drive Thursday 01-February at 06:00. A family member found a back bedroom on fire and safely exited the home with five children. Engine 18 arrived a short time later to find fire and smoke visible from the residence. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines to the building and made entry through the front door. Water supply was conducted with Tenders. Crews took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and were on the scene performing overhaul for 2-1/2 hours. Click
