26-February-2025 - High Speed MVC - "B" Shift

Two adult males were injured in a single vehicle, high speed MVC on McDanieltown Road at the intersection of Liza Ln Wednesday evening 26-February at 20:34. The north bound pickup truck lost control, crossed into the south bound lane where it collided with a guardrail and began to flip over. The truck then struck a road culvert, overturned several times before colliding upside down with a tree. Fire-Rescue units arrived to find the vehicle on its roof. Bystanders described the collision as an explosion and they came out of the homes to investigate. Click here for additional information.
24/February/2025 - Fatal Shooting Incident - "C" Shift

Colleton County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of an adult male in an incident that occurred Monday evening 24-February in the 200 block of LaDolce Ave. north of Cottageville. The incident was reported at 23:56. First arriving deputies found the man unconscious and pulled him to a safe location behind their vehicles. They administered first aid to the victim. 21/February/2025 - Shooting Incident - "C" Shift

At 23:28 Friday 21-February, an adult male was shot in the arm at a residence on Harvard Court in the Roadside Community. He was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics then transported by Fire-Rescue to Colleton Medical Center in stable condition. The Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. Click here for additional information.
21/February/2025 - Birth Announcement

The Fire-Rescue Department wishes to congratulate Firefighter-Paramedic A.J. Jackson and his wife Kayla on the birth of their second son, Beckham. Beckham made his grand entrance into the world at 1902 on 21-February weighing in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 20 inches long. Mom, Beckham, and Dad are all doing great.

The Fire-Rescue Department congratulates Firefighter/EMT Matt Bowsher and his wife Rachel on the birth of their son, Hayden. Hayden was born at 0923 on 16-Febuary at 6 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches long. Mom, Hayden and Dad are are doing great.

11/February/2025 - MVC with Air Evac - "A" Shift

Two people were seriously injured in a single vehicle MVC on Interstate 95 near the 51 mile marker northbound, Tuesday morning 11-February at 01:45. The northbound vehicle left the roadway at a high rate of speed, entered the woods and struck several trees. The small car suffered heavy damage. A small child was also in the car, secured in a child safety seat and was not injured. An adult male and an adult female both suffered multiple traumatic injuries. A second Fire-Rescue ambulance was assigned to the incident. Click here for additional information.
07/February/2025 - Paramedic Certification

The Fire-Rescue Department congratulates FF/EMT Bryon Perry on successfully obtaining his National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certification. Firefighter/Paramedic Perry is assigned to the Station 7 Platoon on "C" Shift.
03/February/2025 - Promotion Announcement

We congratulate Lieutenant Matt Smart on his promotion to Captain. Captain Smart is assigned to "B" shift in the Station 1, 6 and 13 rotation. 
02/February/2025 - Storage Building Fire - "B" Shift

A large storage building and the contents were heavily damaged in an afternoon fire in the 100 block of Bowers Road in the Green Pond Community, Sunday afternoon 02-February at 18:03. An unattended fire in a burn barrel spread through the yard and into a wooded area, before reaching the storage building. Engine 6 arrived to find the building heavily involved. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines to extinguish the fire in the building and yard. They also protected two other nearby storage buildings. Click here for additional information.  
01/February/2025 - MVC with Entrapment - "A" Shift

An adult male received non-life threatening injuries in a single vehicle MVC in the 1100 block of Maple Ridge Road Saturday afternoon 01-February at 18:03. The Nissan Rogue left the roadway, struck several trees and rolled over on its side. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighter-Paramedics stabilized the car with Holmatro struts, then removed the car's windshield. They were able to extricate the man through the windshield. He was treated at the scene, then transported to Colleton Medical Center for further treatment. Click here for additional information.
