11/27/2011 MVC with Air Evacuation A Shift A 16 year old girl received multiple traumatic injuries in a single car MVC in the 10000 block of Round O Road Sunday afternoon 27-November at 15:02. The small convertible appeared to have the left the roadway, over-corrected and slid sideways into a tree. The car received heavy damage, with approximately 2 feet of intrusion into the passenger compartment. Click here for additional information.

11/26/2011 Structure and Woods Fire C Shift A 100 year old barn was destroyed in an afternoon fire at 1510 Merrick Drive, Saturday 26-November. Fire-Rescue was notified of the building fire at 14:48. Engine 19 arrived several minutes later to find the fully involved 15 by 50 foot wooden barn, as well as an approximately 1-1/2 acre woods fire. Firefighters deployed several 1-3/4 handlines to combat the fire. Click here for additional information.

11/24/2011 MVC w/ejection & Air Evacuation A Shift A 63 year old Cottageville man was severely injured in a single car crash in the 5000 block of Rehoboth Road, Thanksgiving morning (24-November) at 07:26. The Chevrolet Avalanche left the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck several trees. The vehicle suffered heavy damage and the driver was ejected from the truck. 11/22/2011 - Fatal MVC with entrapment - A Shift A Georgia woman lost her life in a single vehicle accident on I-95 at the 55 mile marker northbound, Tuesday morning 22-November. At 06:50, Fire-Rescue was notified of an over-turned vehicle with four people injured. Battalion 1 had an additional ambulance assigned to the incident. He arrived a few minutes later noting three patients were out of the over-turned Chevrolet Suburban and the driver was trapped in the wreckage. Click here for additional information.

11-21-2011 Firefighters from Station 1 volunteered to decorate the county courthouse Monday morning 21-November. Clerk of Court Pat Grant directed the crew, that consisted of Pam Berry, David Drawdy, Tony Keen, Chuck Moyer and Scott Mrowca. It took about two hours to hang the greenery, wreaths and bows to bring the majestic old building into the Christmas Spirit. Click here for additional information.

11/21/2011 MVC with ejection C Shift At 00:46 Monday morning 21-November, an eastbound pickup truck lost control on Cottageville Highway near Bedon Road. The truck left the roadway, went down a 15 foot embankment at a high rate of speed and struck the opposite ditch bank. The force of the impact, caused the truck to be thrown out of the deep ditch and to come to rest on its side near the woods. Click here for additional information.

11/20/2011 MVC with entrapment C Shift A single car MVC resulted in two people being injured Sunday evening 20-November. At 23:40, a Ford Expedition traveling south on I-95 left the roadway near the 60 mile marker and struck several trees. The SUV flipped over trapping both occupants inside the overturned car which received heavy damage with the roof crushed to the top of the front seats. Click here for additional information.

11/20/2011 MVC with ejection B Shift A high speed single vehicle MVC has sent one man to a Trauma Center. The accident was reported at 02:25, Sunday morning 20-November on Charleston Highway near Parkers Ferry Road. The east bound pick-up truck left the roadway on the west bound side of the highway, striking a driveway culvert then several trees. The truck flipped over landing on its roof and ejecting the driver. Click here for additional information.

11/18/2011 Fatal MVC with entrapment A Shift A single car MVC on Interstate 95 has left one woman dead and a man injured. The accident occurred near the 52 mile marker southbound at 09:54 Friday morning 18-November. The southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway, entering the ditch on the right hand side of the highway. 11/16/2011 Shooting Incident B Shift A shooting incident left one man injured with a single GSW to the right knee. The incident was reported at 18:35, Wednesday evening 16-November at 117 Taylor Street, Lot 12 in the Wiggins Trailer Park. The adult male did not provide much information as to how the incident occurred. 11/12/2011 Hay Bale Fire A Shift Fireworks were the culprit of an accidental fire that destroyed 80 large hay bales and damaged a 60 x 200 open air steel storage building with an attached barn. The incident occurred Saturday evening, 12-November at 21:07. The initial 9-1-1 call reported a hay bale on fire at 2557 Drain Road north of the Town of Smoaks. Click here for additional information.

11/12/2011 Traumatic Injuries with Air Evacuation A Shift A 48 year old man received multiple, life threatening injuries when a horse fell on him at a residence on Mount Carmel Road near McLeod Road Saturday evening 12-November. The accident was reported at 18:07 indicating a horse was attacking the man. It was later learned the horse fell on the patient. The man received multiple traumatic injuries, including head and chest injuries. Click here for additional information.

11/11/2011 MVC with Traumatic Injuries A two vehicle accident on ACE Basin Parkway at Clinic Drive in Jacksonboro left one man with multiple injuries. The accident occurred at 16:57 when a small car turned into the path of a northbound tour bus. The bus struck the car in the passenger side throwing the car over a ditch into an old parking lot. 11/08/2011 - Medical First Responder Training Station 15 personnel participated in the final night of a DOT Medical First Responder Course held at Station 15 in Islandton on Tuesday 08-November. The course was broken up over several training nights to accommodate different schedules. Personnel were evaluated on CPR, bleeding control, immobilization, splinting, the Lucas Device and airway management...click here for more information.

11/04/2011 Structure Fire B Shift A kitchen fire heavily damaged a residence at 105 Teal Court Friday afternoon 04-November at 12:59. A grandmother was home cooking when the fire broke out on the stove and quickly extended to the cabinets. She was able to gather up the three small children in her care and safely exit the house to call 9-1-1. 11/04/2011 Traumatic injury with Air Evacuation B Shift An adult male suffered a head injury after falling from a moving 4-wheeler, Friday afternoon 4-November at 12:02. The man fell striking his head and according to witnesses he was unconscious for a short period of time. He was evaluated by Firefighter-Paramedics on Medic 6, who decided to fly him to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Click here for additional information.

11/02/2011 Structure Fire B Shift An overloaded electrical circuit is being blamed for a early morning fire that heavily damaged a bedroom. Fire-Rescue was notified of the fire at 00:57, Wednesday 02-November at 56 Hallie Lane. Engine 1 arrived 5 minutes later to find smoke coming from the single story block building and fire venting from a C side window. All occupants had safely exited the structure. 11/01/2011 Camper Fire B Shift A large fifth wheel camper burned on I-95 at the 50 mile marker northbound, Tuesday morning 1-November at 10:09. The occupants of the truck pulling the camper noted they heard a popping noise, then saw flames coming from the area of the tires. They were able to stop in the breakdown lane and used three fire extinguishers on the fire with little results. Click here for additional information.
