31-July-2022 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift Firefighters saved a home in the 12700 block of Mount Carmel Road Sunday afternoon 31-July at 13:43. Fire-Rescue was dispatched to the location when the homeowner discovered smoke coming from the roof. Engine 7, stationed in Smoaks, arrived minutes later to find light smoke coming from the doublewide mobile home. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines to the residence and pulled the ceiling in one room to reach the fire. Crews found electrical wiring in the attic space had burned and spread to nearby roof joists. Click here for additional information. |

20/July/2022 - Storage Building Fire - "C" Shift A 20x30 storage building was destroyed in an early morning fire on Marble Ln Wednesday 20-July at 00:34. Engine 19 arrived to find the wood frame building fully involved. It was located behind a mobile home. Crews deployed several hand lines to extinguish the fire. The entire building and the contents were destroyed. There was no damage to the mobile home. Fire units were on the scene for 2 hours. Click here for additional information. |

30/July/2022 - Shooting Incident - "A" Shift An adult male was shot several times at the Sure Shots Nightclub at 4198 Sniders Hwy Saturday morning 30-July. 9-1-1 was notified of the incident at 01:54, advising one person had been shot and another person was injured. Sheriff's Deputies arrived minutes later and secured the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics found a male patient in critical condition who suffered gunshot wounds inside the establishment and a female patient outside the building with a broken leg. 26/July/2022 - Head-on Collision - "A" Shift Two pickup trucks collided head-on in the 200 block of Bama Rd Tuesday afternoon 26-July at 17:38. The female driver of a Dodge was transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center by Medic 9. The male driver of the Ford F-150 was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 19. The rural dirt road was blocked for about an hour until the vehicles could be removed. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the accident. Click here for additional information. |

Funeral services will be held at the Maple Cane Baptist Church,
located at 21287 Augusta Hwy in the Maple Cane Community, at 13:00

24/July/2022 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment & Air Evac - "B" Shift Three people died and eight others were injured in a multi-vehicle MVC on Interstate 95 near the 52 mile marker southbound Sunday afternoon 24-July at 16:44. Battalion 1 arrived 4 minutes later to find the Interstate blocked and littered with debris. Five vehicles were in the median, two of which were on fire. One SUV was on the right shoulder. One 17 year old female was flown from the scene by the CARE Flight helicopter to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Fire-Rescue transported the remaining injured, which included several children, to Colleton Medical Center in three ambulances. Click here for additional information. |

23/July/2022 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift Two connected campers used as a residence, were destroyed in an evening structure fire, Saturday 23-July. The home was a large camper with a smaller one permanently attached to the end. At 20:27, a passerby noticed flames in the woods in the 1000 block of Keegan Dr. near Cromwell Ln. Upon investigating, the caller discovered the campers were well involved. Engine 19 arrived minutes later to find both campers were fully involved and one had already collapsed. 23/July/2022 - Fatal Shooting Incident - "A" Shift Two adults, a male and female, were killed in a shooting incident at an Enchanted Ln residence Saturday afternoon 23-July. At 15:33, 9-1-1 was advised by a juvenile caller that a man and woman had been shot at the location. Deputies arrived minutes later and found the two victims. They secured the scene and apprehend an adult suspect. Firefighter-Paramedics treated both victims and found no signs of life. The Coroner's Office was notified and responded to the scene. The incident is being investigated by the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. Click here for additional information. |

14/July/2022 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift A lightning strike damaged a residential dwelling at 196 Emerald Street Thursday evening 14-July during a thunderstorm. At 21:22 the resident notified 9-1-1 there was smoke in the home. Fire-Rescue units arrived a short time later and found heavy smoke in an addition to the residence. Firefighters searched the home and found a door casing that had burned. Crews removed smoke from the home. No other damage was found to the structure and no injuries were reported. 13/July/2022 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift An approximately 20x50 metal storage building was destroyed, along with a multitude of tools, power equipment, lawn mowers, three 55 gallon drums of diesel and several bird cages. Approximately 15 doves and several ducks also perished during the fire. The fire occurred in the 1000 block of Nunuville Road at 15:08. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple hand lines to extinguish the fire and kept the flames from reaching other outside buildings and the residence on the property. 12/July/2022 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift A Hunting Lodge in the 7200 block of Hendersonville Hwy was damaged in an evening structure fire Tuesday 12-July at 20:18. Persons attending church next door saw smoke coming from the building and alerted the owner, who called 9-1-1. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later to find smoke coming from the eaves on all sides of the single story wood frame building. The owner had used a garden hose on the fire prior to the fire units arriving. Crews deployed one handline to the building and doused the remaining flames. The fire had burned into an exterior wall and firefighters used a chainsaw to remove a portion of the wall and extinguish the fire. Click here for additional information. |

10/July/2022 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment - "C" Shift Two adult males were killed and three other people were injured, two critically, in a head-on collision in the 8000 block of Charleston Hwy. (SC Hwy 64) near the Neyles Community Sunday evening 10-July at 18:23. The two vehicles, a 2012 VW Routan minivan and 2018 Honda CR-V struck head-on at a high rate of speed in a curve during a thunderstorm. Both vehicles received heavy damage. Two off-duty Firefighter-Paramedics drove up on the accident shortly after it occurred. They reported the accident to 9-1-1 over the radio. They and other bystanders began assisting the injured. 09/July/2022 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift A singlewide mobile home was damaged in an evening structure fire Saturday 10-July at 20:09. The incident occurred at 24576 Augusta Hwy in the Maple Cane Community. A neighbor saw the fire in a window on the east side of the building and began spraying water on the fire from a garden hose. This helped stop the spread of the fire. The fire appears to have started in a window air conditioning unit and spread to the room. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the residence. Crews deployed one 1-3.4 handline and finished extinguishing the fire which was mostly confined to a bedroom. Click here for additional information. |

03/July/2022 - Fatal MVC - "B" Shift A Denmark man perished following a single vehicle roll-over accident in the 9300 block of Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) Sunday afternoon 03-July at 15:45. According to witnesses, the Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway and flipped over several times. Fire-Rescue crews found the man unresponsive near the vehicle. Crews moved him to a nearby ambulance and began resuscitative measures. He was transported emergent to Colleton Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. Two other adult males were treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics and they denied ambulance transportation to a hospital. Click here for additional information. |
