31/August/2025 - Overturned Vehicle MVC - "A" Shift

Two unrestrained teenagers were injured when the Suburban they were in left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. The accident occurred on a rural dirt road near Possum Corner Road, Sunday evening 31-August at 19:30. A 16 yr old female and 13 yr old male were treated at the scene, then transported with non-life threatening injuries to HCA Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. Click here for additional information.
29/August/2025 - Dive Response / Law Enforcement Assist - "C" Shift


At 12:43 Friday 29-August, Fire-Rescue Divers assisted the Sheriff's Office with the recovery of a stolen safe from Black Creek in the 4100 block of Cane Branch Road. Detectives received information the safe had been thrown off of the bridge into the creek. Divers entered the 15 foot waters and found the safe. Deputies pulled it from the creek. Units were on the scene for approximately an hour. Click here for additional information.
28/August/2025 - Motorcycle vs Dog MVC - "B" Shift

An adult male was severely injured when the Kawasaki motorcycle he was riding struck a dog in the 900 block of Ruffin Road Thursday evening 28-Aug at 18:11. The motorcycle was west bound on Ruffin Road when the dog exited a wooded area and entered the roadway. Following the collision, the motorcycle slid several hundred feet blocking the road.The driver was not wearing a helmet and suffered multiple traumatic injuries. The canine was killed. 27/August/2025 - Fall with Air Evac - "A" Shift

An adult male received multiple injuries in fall from a ladder Wednesday morning 27-Aug at 10:04. The home is newly constructed along the Edisto River in some old rice fields approximately 5 miles from an improved road. Fire-Rescue units were sent to an address on Hope Plantation Road which was a substantial distance from the actual location. The home was actually located at the end of Ti Ti Road several miles from the reported location. Click here for additional information.
24/August/2025 - MVC with Air Evac - "A" Shift

A three vehicle accident in the 1700 Block of Robertson Blvd. at the Convenience Site, sent three people to the hospital Sunday afternoon 24-August at 13:09. Two people were transported with non-life threatening injuries to HCA Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. A third patient, an adult male, suffered a head injury and was transported by Fire-Rescue Ambulance to the CARE Flight base to meet with the Flight Crew. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. Click here for addtional information.
23/August/2025 - Mutual Aid Response to Orangeburg County - "C" Shift

At 13:47, Colleton County received a mutual aid request from Orangeburg County Fire-Rescue for Tenders, to assist with water supply for a large scrap yard fire at Don's Car Crushing, 1191 White Sands Road near Holly Hill. Units from Orangeburg, Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston Counties were already on the scene. Colleton dispatched five, 3000 gallon Tenders and a Battalion Chief to assist. Colleton units were at the scene until 04:00 Sunday morning. Click here for additional information.

16/August/2025 - High Speed MVC - "A" Shift

An adult male received life threatening injuries after his pickup truck left I-95, struck a guard rail and plummeted into Ivanhoe Creek at 01:18 Saturday morning 16-Aug. The truck overturned several times receiving heavy damage. A second vehicle was also damaged when it struck debris in the highway following the first collision. The small car was disabled and blocked one lane of I-95. Firefighter-Paramedics scaled down the embankment and traversed waist deep water to reach the injured man. Firefighters rigged ropes and placed a ladder down the embankment to assist with his recovery. Click here for additional information.
15/August/2025 - SCHP Escort - "A" Shift

Hundreds of First Responders lined I-26 and the overpasses to honor fallen State Trooper Dennis Ricks Friday morning 15-August. Ricks died from injuries sustained during a traffic stop on I-26 in Orangeburg County earlier in the week. It was reported that Ricks was struck by a box truck and sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston, but sadly did not survive. Click here for additional information.
11/August/2025 - Car vs Tree MVC - "B" Shift

Two people were critically injured and a third person received multiple injuries Monday morning 11-Aug when their passenger car struck a tree that fell across the highway. The accident occurred at 03:43. The southbound Mustang was traveling on a dark rural section of Cottageville Hwy. (US Hwy 17-A) near Merrick Dr. when it struck the tree. The large pine tree had fallen across the highway, blocking the entire road. The front occupants received the worst injuries. Fire-Rescue Medc 19 arrived and requested a second Fire-Rescue ambulance due to the number of patients and the severity of their injuries. Click here for more information. 
10/August/2025 - Three Vehicle MVC - "B" Shift

An adult female was seriously injured in a three vehicle MVC on Jefferies Hwy (US Hwy. 15) at LaFayette Ln, Sunday afternoon 10-August at 12:18. Firefighter-Paramedics evaluated four patients at the scene. A second Fire-Rescue ambulance was requested. An adult female suffered serious injuries. She was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. Medic 19 picked up the Flight Crew from C.A.R.E. Flight to assist during the transport. 07/August/2025 - Shooting Incident - "B" Shift

An adult male was critically injured in a shooting incident in the 700 block of Van Dyke Road north of the Town of Cottageville, Thursday afternoon 07-August at 16:16. The man was involved in a reported domestic dispute and was shot in the abdomen. Sheriff's Deputies secured the scene, while Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man. He was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 9 to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. Click here for additional information.
