31/January/2024 - MVC with injuries - "C"
Shift An adult male was transported to Colleton Medical Center with a possible head injury following a two car MVC at the intersection of Bells Hwy and Briarwood Circle Wednesday afternoon 31-January at 12:13. The man was treated at the scene prior to transport. The Walterboro Police Dept. is investigating the accident. Click here for additional information. |

31/January/2024 - MVC with Fire - "B" Shift A multi-vehicle MVC occurred on I-95 at the 53 mile marker southbound, Wednesday morning 31-January at 05:28. A semi-truck collided with a small car carrier causing heavy damage to both vehicles. They came to rest in the outside lane and breakdown lane, with debris littering the southbound lanes. A Ford Transit van being hauled on the car carrier was dislodged and heavily damaged. The van landed on the shoulder. The Dodge pickup truck, car carrier trailer and the two other vehicles being hauled were damaged as well. Click here for more information. |

29/January/2024 - Fatal Shooting Incident - "A" Shift At 21:32, Sheriff's Deputies and Fire-Rescue were sent to the area of Round O Road just south of Ferret Lane for an unconscious male in a pickup truck Monday evening 29-January. The caller indicated the vehicle was in the woods and the man may have been shot. Units were clearing up from another incident about two miles away and arrived quickly. 29/January/2024 - Condolences We offer condolences to Captain Joseph Holmes and his family on the passing of his mother, Judith Holmes. Ms. Holmes was one of the first EMTs/Paramedics certified in SC and served diligently with the Hilton Head Island Rescue Squad back when hearses served as ambulances. Visitation will be held Friday evening 02-February at Sauls Funeral Home from 17:00 to 19:00. Funeral services will be conducted at the Ridgeland Baptist Church Saturday 03-February at 10:30, with a short visitation Saturday at 10:00. Please remember their family in your prayers. |

27/January/2024 - MVC with Air Evac - "A" Shift An adult male was critically injured in a single vehicle motorcycle accident in the 3800 block of Lowcountry Hwy. (US Hwy 21) near Plum Tree Ln. Saturday afternoon 27-January. At 16:10, the south bound Suzuki motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, when it failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle crossed into the northbound ditch, struck a driveway culvert and flipped over several times, ejecting the driver. Click here for additional information. |

27/January/2024 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift
An approximately 40' x 25' garage/workshop in the 1400 block of Cottageville Hwy. (US Hwy 17-A) was heavily damaged in an afternoon fire Saturday 27-January at 12:40. The occupants were at home when the fire occurred and advised they heard a pop and the dogs began barking. Upon investigation, they found the garage on fire. Fire-Rescue units arrived quickly and deployed several handlines to the building. Click here for additional information. |

24/January/2024 - Shooting Incident - "B"
Shift An adult male was airlifted to a Trauma Center following a shooting incident at the Corner Store in 8800 block of Hendersonville Hwy (US Hwy 17-A) Thursday afternoon 24-January at 15:35. Sheriff's Deputies and Firefighter-Paramedics responded to the location and began treating the individual. He was transported in Fire-Rescue Medic 13 to the bus loop at Hendersonville Elementary School, then transferred to the Flightcrew of CARE Flight. Click here for additional information. |

22/January/2024 - Structure Fires - "B" Shift Two mobile homes were destroyed in an early morning fire in the 100 block of Michelle Lane south of Cottageville, Monday morning 22-January. At 00:51, a resident who lives off of Bama Rd, called 9-1-1 reporting a building on fire on Michelle Lane. She advised she could see flames through the woods. Engine 9 arrived to find two singlewide mobile homes fully involved. The roof on each had already collapsed and the surrounding woods were on fire. Firefighters had problems reaching the buildings, which were located well off of the road. Click here for additional information. |

21/January/2024 - MVC - "B" Shift
A vehicle accident at the intersection of Hampton St
and Widgeon Rd sent three people to area hospitals
and blocked Hampton Street for 40 minutes. The
accident occurred at 13:04 when a pickup truck and a
small car collided. The adult female driver of the
passenger car suffered multiple traumatic injuries.
She was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19
to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Two occupants of the
pickup truck were transported by Medic 1 to Colleton
Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is

14/January/2024 - Martin Luther King Parade Fire-Rescue was one of many agencies participating in the annual Martin Luther King Day parade to honor the life and achievements of the late Reverend Doctor King. Engine 27 and Medic 1 participated in the parade which followed a route north on Jefferies Blvd through downtown Walterboro. Spectators line Jefferies Blvd for the event. 14/January/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift A Catholic Hill residence received substantial damage in an early morning fire Sunday 14-January. At 07:55, a passing motorist noticed flames coming from a home in the 100 block of Clover Hill Road and called 9-1-1. Engine 6 arrived 5 minutes later to find a singlewide mobile home approximately 30% involved, with heavy fire and smoke showing. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines and quickly knocked down the flames. Crews entered the structure through the front door and finished extinguishing the fire. The home had a heavy fire load and crews had problems accessing the back of the structure. Click here for more information. |

14/January/2024 - Shooting Incident - "C" Shift Two juveniles were injured in a drive-by shooting incident in the 200 block of Able Street Sunday morning 14-January at 02:27. The mobile home was shot several times with rounds entering the living space. A 14 year old male and a 16 year old male were both indoors and struck in the legs. Fortunately neither suffered a life threatening injury. Sheriff's Deputies cleared the scene, then Firefighter-Paramedics treated both patients at the home. 13/January/2024 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift A Islandton workshop in the 16900 block of Sniders Hwy (SC Hwy 63) was destroyed Saturday morning 13-January. At 10:52, 9-1-1 received a report of the fire advising the building was well involved. Units from Station 15 in Islandton could see the column of smoke from the station two miles away. Engine 15 arrived to find the 50x50 block building fully involved with a portion of the roof already collapsed. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines to the building. 13/January/2024 - MVC with Entrapment - "B" Shift An adult male suffered multiple traumatic injuries when his utility truck left the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck a large tree in the 2800 block of Jacksonboro Road, Saturday morning 13-January at 06:47. The truck suffered massive damage, with the dash crushed against the back wall and the utility body separating from the frame. The driver was trapped in a small space against the driver's door and miraculously survived. He was conscious and communicated with Rescuers. Click here for additional information. |

13/January/2024 - MVC with Entrapment - "B" Shift Two people were trapped following a high speed single vehicle MVC on Hendersonville Hwy. (US Hwy 17-A) at the intersection of Public Landing Road north of the Town of Yemassee, Saturday morning 13-January at 00:39. The small pickup truck left the roadway, crossed the ditch and struck several trees, with a portion of one tree landing on the roof of the truck. 04/January/2024 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift One person was transported to a Trauma Center following a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Robertson Blvd (SC Hwy 64) and Poplar Street Thursday afternoon 04-Jan at 15:45. A Yukon and Ford pickup collided in the intersection. The pickup driver received multiple injuries. The occupant of the Yukon received minor injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics treated both patients at the scene, then transported the driver of the pickup truck emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. 02/January/2024 - Plane Crash - "A" Shift An adult female was critically injured after her single engine plane crashed into a pond on private property in the 5000 block of Wiggins Road Tuesday morning 02-January at 11:34. The site was well off of the roadway and not visible from Wiggins Road. The Piper aircraft had just taken off from Beaufort when it apparently suffered mechanical problems. The plane had turned back towards Beaufort. The property owner on Wiggins Road was in his yard when he heard the plane strike several trees. Click here for additional information. |
