30/June/2021 - MVC w/entrapment & Air Evacuation - "C" Shift

One person was injured in a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Sidneys Road on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 18:01.  Engine 19 arrived six minutes later to find a vehicle far from the roadway.  It appeared to have rolled over several times, coming to rest on its roof.  The driver was entrapped and had multiple injuries.  Crews used hydraulic tools to remove the driver's door and extricate the patient.  The patient was placed in Medic 19 and was transported a short distance to the landing zone to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter.  Crews assisted with transferring the patient to the aircraft and securing the LZ.  Click here for more info.
29/June/2021 - MVC w/entrapment & Air Evac. Mutual Aid - "B" Shift

Five people were injured in a motor vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles at the 39 mile marker northbound on Interstate 95 in Hampton County.  Hampton County units initially requested a medic unit to assist with transportation of the patients, but soon after Medic 13 was dispatched, Hampton requested a heavy rescue and personnel to assist with extrication.  Evidently, an unmarked law enforcement Tahoe was in the median at the 39 mile marker turnaround when a 40 foot motor home entered the median, struck the Tahoe, and continued into the woods, tearing down multiple trees that fell on top of the motor home.  Click here for more info.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Edisto Beach north to the South Santee River.  Tropical Depression #4 (which may be named Tropical Storm "Danny" prior to landfall), is expected to make landfall in our area late this afternoon or evening.  Wind gusts of 35-45 mph (low end Tropical Storm force) are possible, mainly in showers.  1-3 inches of rain is expected with locally heavier amounts possible.  There is a low risk for a tornado and a moderate risk of rip currents at all beaches today.  There is more information available at

28/June/2021 - MVC w/entrapment - "C" Shift

One person was injured in a two car MVC at the intersection of Jefferies Hwy (U.S. Hwy 15) and Augusta Hwy (S.C. Hwy 61) Monday morning, 28 June at 07:19.  The collision occurred at Canadys Crossroads.  Off-duty Firefighter/EMT Robbie McAlhaney arrived less than a minute after the incident was dispatched and reported two vehicles involved, one with moderate front end damage and another on its side with confirmed entrapment.  One patient refused transport and the trapped patient was stabilized by Firefighter/Paramedics and extricated through the roof of the vehicle on its side.  The patient was transported by Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to Colleton Medical Center.  Click here for more information.

We congratulate Firefighter/Paramedic Kelley Landers on passing his NREMT Paramedic Written and Practicals.  Firefighter/Paramedic Landers is assigned to the 1/13 rotation on C-Shift.
25/June/2021 - MVC w/entrapment & Air Evac - "A" Shift

Four people were injured, with one child with suspected critical injuries, in a two car MVC in the 900 block of Robertson Blvd. (SC Hwy 64) Friday morning 25-June at 11:04. The cars collided on Robertson Blvd near Dukes Bar-B-Que Restaurant. An adult female in Lincoln was trapped in her vehicle. She suffered non-life threatening injuries. Three people in a Honda Civic, an adult female and two pediatric females, received traumatic injuries. 24/June/2021 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift

An adult male was severely injured when his motorcycle collided head-on with a small passenger car in the 1900 block of Sidneys Road near the Pak-a-Sak Store. The accident occurred Thursday afternoon 24-June at 17:44 when a southbound Honda motorcycle struck a northbound Chevrolet Impala. The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet, suffered multiple traumatic injuries as well as a head injury and was unconscious following the crash. He regained consciousness at the scene. 22/June/2021 - MVC with Ejection & Air Evac - "A" Shift

A 50 yr male was severely injured in a two vehicle MVC on Augusta Hwy at the I-95 interchange Tuesday afternoon 22-June at 17:23. A northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop at Augusta Hwy and collided with an Eastbound tractor trailer. The Jeep drove under the trailer, breaking both rear axles on the semi-trailer. The unrestrained driver of the Jeep was ejected onto the highway and received multiple injuries including a head injury. Firefighter-Paramedics found the semi-conscious  man lying behind the Jeep. 19/June/2021 - Neyles Community Vaccine Clinic

Fire-Rescue's CERT members assisted with the Neyles Community COVID 19 Vaccine Clinic held Saturday 19-June. Headed up by CERT Coordinator Adrienne Stokes, Hurricane Safety information and preparation materials were distributed to citizens during the event. CERT members were on scene to answer questions and assist the public.  On June 9th, CERT members also distributed hurricane safety information to parents at Hendersonville Elementary School as they picked up their children from school.  Click

19/June/2021 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift

Two northbound tractor trailers collided on I-95 near the 46 mile marker just south of the Rest Area Saturday morning 19-June at 02:51. One truck entered the median at a high rate of speed and struck several trees causing the truck to spin and roll over in the median. The trailer came apart, spilling the load of watermelons onto the highway and into the median. The second truck was able to stop in the breakdown lane. The driver of the overturned truck received substantial injuries to his legs. He was treated at the scene by Fire-Rescue, then transported to Colleton Medical Center. Click here for more information.
17/June/2021 - MVC with Fire - "B" Shift

A 20 yr old Summerville man received injuries in a single vehicle accident in the 8000 block of Charleston Hwy (SC Hwy 64) just west of the Neyles Community Thursday 17-June at 12:27. The westbound passenger car dropped off of the right shoulder, over-corrected and crossed to the eastbound shoulder where it struck a tree and caught fire. The male driver who was wearing a seatbelt, was able to escape from the car. Bystanders assisted the man until Firefighter-Paramedics arrived.  Click here for more information.
17/June/2021 - Birth Announcement

We congratulate Firefighter-Paramedic Zachery Evans and his wife Brittani on the birth of their first child, Deklan Cash Evans, who was born on 17-June. Deklan weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches. Both baby and mom are doing fine.  
16/June/2021 - Birth Announcement

We congratulate Firefighter-EMT Rusty Sullivan and his wife Tiffany on the birth of their son and third child, Owen who was born 16-June at 03:41. Owen weighed 8 pounds and was 19-3/4 inches. Both are doing well and Owen's sisters were upset they could not stay all day with their new brother. 
13/June/2021 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Bonnie Doone Road Sunday evening 13-June at 19:40. An off-duty firefighter was driving past the home when the incident was dispatched. He reported smoke coming from the double wide mobile home and fire in the utility room. He and the homeowner used buckets of water to douse the flames, extinguishing the fire and containing it to the utility room. Engine 19 arrived about 7 minutes later. Firefighters removed smoldering debris from the clothes dryer and performed overhaul in the room of origin. Click here for more information.
12-June-2021 / Medical Air Evac - "C" Shift

An adult male suffered a critical medical emergency at a residence in the 500 block of Perkins Path in Jacksonboro Saturday afternoon 12-June at 14:32. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated the man at the scene, then transported him in Medic 6 to the field in front of Jacksonboro Baptist Church to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. The man was transferred to the Flight Crew and flown to MUSC in Charleston. Click here for more information.
12/June/2021 - Firehood Foundation Walk

Crews from Stations 2 and 6 assisted Firefighter Tom "Bull" Hill and his group of walkers as they traversed Colleton County, walking 17 miles of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) from Beaufort County to Charleston County Saturday 12-June & Sunday 13-June. Hill's Memorial Walk, Carrying My Brother's Burden, is part of his non-profit foundation to bring attention to Public Safety employees' illnesses which include PTSD and suicide.  Click

03/June/2021 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment - "C" Shift

Three people were injured, one fatally, in a single vehicle MVC at the intersection of Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) and Round O Road east of Canadys Thursday evening 03-June at 22:04. A Chrysler minivan traveling north on Round O Road, ran through a stop sign, crossed Augusta Hwy and collided with an oak tree. The minivan received heavy damage to the passenger side, trapping the front seat passenger. Fire-Rescue units arrived to find an adult female and male walking near the vehicle. The unrestrained passenger was not breathing and had no signs of life. Click here for more information.
01/June/2021 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

A family of six safely escaped a fire that destroyed their home in the 100 block of Platinum Street Tuesday morning 01-June. At 00:02, 9-1-1 was notified of the fire with the caller advising someone banged on their door advising the house was on fire. The occupants told Firefighters the dogs woke them up and they discovered the fire burning across the front porch. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later to find the doublewide mobile home approximately 70% involved. Engine 19 deployed multiple hand lines to the building to combat the fire.
